It's been said that the unexamined life isn't worth living. From age 14 -19, I pondered the meaning and purpose of life.
An eye-opening, soul-crushing summer confirmation class at a local Episcopal church had destroyed my previously held but rarely reflected upon assumption that the bible was true.
If "the Church" has no answers, I thought, then who does?
As a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin, I hoped for some answers from a philosophy course on "The Existence Of God".
Unfortunately it was taught by a geeky atheist and I faced the probability that the meaning and purpose of life was "whatever worked" for each individual.
It was a reality I found increasingly difficult to accept. Each walk to class involved a bombardment of all flavors of proselytizers>

What passed for "working for me" was basically numbing my emptiness with whatever chemicals were offered to me; a vague, desperate plan to "experience EVERYTHING"...
I had resolved not to commit my life to any philosophy or belief system based merely on HOPE.
That was my excuse for not embracing the "gospel message" that a close friend had spent all high school trying to get me to accept. I convinced myself that it was merely what he and his girlfriend "hoped" was true. And besides...
becoming a "bible thumper" would be the end of any popularity I was currently enjoying.
In periodic torment I questioned whether an examined, yet meaningless life was "worth living". Unbenounced to me, my friend, his girlfriend, and a few of their friends had been praying for me... for years. Their prayers were not in vain.
Without a doubt, the 'Hound Of Heaven" was in increasingly hot pursuit, sometimes breathing down my neck...
One particular night of anguish that fall of 1974, I found myself looking up and saying, "God, if you exist, reveal yourself to me in a way that I know it's real. And if you have a plan for my life, show me.".
Several months later, God did exactly that. The rest of my life has been the living out of an inner compulsion-- To seek the answers to life's deepest, most profoundly consequential questions.
TRUTH-seeking is my endless daily passion. There are always new questions and new answers to be found when the subject matter, Almighty God and His living WORD, are an infinite well of "everything pertaining to life and godliness". (2 Peter 1:3)
The Bible is not full of inconsistencies, paradoxes, antinomies, and tensions. We can grasp God's thoughts. Biblically, LOGOS means, "the logical/rational speech of God".
LOGIC and DILIGENCE are the key to grasping profound truths.

The biggest God is GOD and ALL the rest are idols. The immutable attributes of the Supreme Being, when logically and sufficiently understood, should eliminate endless hours of unfruitful theological debate except for the fact that...
people interpret life through the filter of their presuppositions regardless of facts and logic.
God's attributes include Omniscience (all-knowing), Omnipotence (all-powerful), and Omnipresence (present everywhere).
The elimination of any of these attributes leaves nothing but a useless idol, something God abhors judging from the very first of the 10 Commandments and most of the bible.
So, how big is the biggest God? So big that He Himself (Jesus) completely fulfilled the requirement for salvation (SINLESS PERFECTION) by becoming a creature and living a perfect, sinless life as the second Adam, the one and only God-man.
For that reason it can be said that Christianity is the EASIEST religion. We don't have to do anything to earn salvation. Just BELIEVE it. And even the belief (ie. faith) is a GIFT from God!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
But, therein lies the problem. Humans, by nature, are born idol-makers with a natural desire (since the ORIGINAL SIN in the Garden of Eden) to be autonomous (a law unto ourselves) like God.
Even worse, with Adam's fallen nature we're born at ENMITY with the one true God, suppressing His truth in unrighteousness as objects of His WRATH.
"Wherefore the mind of the flesh (is) enmity against God; for to the law of God it is not subject, neither, indeed, can it; and being unable to please God in the flesh." (Romans 8:7-8)
So we invent religions that allow us to qualify for salvation easily enough. Few of us see ourselves as perfect, but at least "good enough" for all our false gods and idols. However...
The biggest God is HOLY in every conceivable way...
an attribute no imperfect human would dare to include were he inventing a religion.
“HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8)
Imagine a perfect, HOLY JUDGE grading on the curve, commanding us to sin "as little as possible".
"Be ye therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:48)
Even His LOVE is HOLY.
His HOLY WRATH brought on by His HOLY JUSTICE must be propitiated (appeased) by a HOLY SACRIFICE so he can love that which is, by nature, unholy.
"For thus God loved the world so as He gave the only begotten Son that everyone believing in Him may not perish but may have eternal life." (John 3:16 literal translation)
Therefore, Christianity is the easiest religion because we don't need to earn salvation. But, it's an IMPOSSIBLE religion for all autonomy-obsessed humans who can only abide by a religion that includes a salvation that they can in some way qualify for... as opposed to those that don't qualify.
It can be said that all religions fall under 2 main worldviews that began in the Garden of Eden, THEISM and HUMANISM. ULTIMATE OUTCOMES are either determined by an autonomous God or autonomous humans, respectively. Sociologists refer to it as a culture's "Point Of Ultimacy".
Satan convinced the PERFECT, SINLESS REPRESENTATIVE of all mankind, Adam, that he was autonomous like God, free to defy God's one and only prohibition without suffering any consequence despite God's clear warning. It was a demonic lie from the father of lies.
To this day, individuals loath the doctrine of sovereign grace in ELECTION clearly presented along with the typical, anticipated objections stated and directly answered by God. (Romans 9:10-24).
Among professing believers, SOVEREIGN GRACE remains the most despised and cherished doctrine known to man.
Despised by those holding a low view of Original Sin and man's depravity; cherished by those who identify with the contrite tax-gatherer, crying with his head bowed, "God, be merciful to me, the sinner!" Luke 17:10-14

If 12 disciples were able to "turn the world upside down" 2,000 years ago, why don't 2.3 billion Christians have more of a positive impact on our present world?
Are we not witnessing worldwide spiritual warfare on a scale unmatched in our lifetime?
John the Baptist said, "He must increase and I must decrease." Have today's "Elect" gotten that backwards? Do we truly believe in the biggest God? Is current theology man-centered or God-centered?
"The Lord has established His throne in the heavens; and His sovereignty rules over all. Psalm 103:19"
Our hope is in the Almighty God of the chosen 12 apostles-- The God Who, by His sovereign grace, replaces "hearts of stone" with "hearts of flesh" and causes spiritually blind eyes to see Jesus Christ as Messiah, Savior, and LORD "according to His purpose", "His good pleasure", "after the counsel of His will", and "to the praise of His glory". Ephesians 1:3-14
Because the biggest God IS GOD!
New Heart + New Eyes = New Creation
A miracle took place the morning of January 7, 1975, in the kitchen of a hotel located in a scenic skiing village in the Swiss Alps. A young man carrying out the mundane task of polishing silver was suddenly gifted with a new heart and new eyes!
The result was an instantaneous, life-changing paradigm shift in belief regarding propositions he had consciously and continuously rejected the previous 5 years of his life.
A somewhat dazed new creation, overcome with emotions of peace and joy, stood up from the stool where a hopelessly lost, agnostic soul had been sitting. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Thus began my working OUT "with fear and trembling" what God was graciously working IN me> my SALVATION, BOTH "the willing AND the doing for His good pleasure". (Ephesians 2:12-13)
Never again would I be haunted by the uncertainty of my eternal destination. Hallelujah, my name was written in the Lamb's Book Of Life from before the foundation of the world! (Revelation 13:8)
My next 50 years would be an eventful sojourn of seeking TRUTH, avoiding error, sometimes stumbling, but always growing in the "grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ". (2 Peter 3:17-18)
Most importantly, that miracle marked a merciful exit from a path of destruction> the road to PERDITION.

A lifelong quest for TRUTH, wisdom and understanding would begin that day; plunging the infinite depths of the LOVE, FORGIVENESS, GRACE, MERCY, JUSTICE, HOLINESS, and INFINITE GLORY of the biggest GOD who IS there and... NOT SILENT!
My salvation was the answered prayers of a few faithful people concerned for my soul. Most of them, I had never met. If you're reading this, it's because others are praying for YOU...
My daily prayer is threefold:
First, that God would prepare and choose, according to His perfect plan, will, and timing, EVERY person who encounters this website.
Second, that God would bless each individual visitor in a special way each time they visit according to their particular situation and need.
Third, that anyone asking honest questions will find honest answers based in TRUTH. ALL who are feeling hopeless and asking if
YOUR life is worth living...
Here's the TRUTH. Jesus, the GOD-man, lived a sinless life, shed His blood on the cross as a ransom for guilty sinners and with his last breath said, "It is finished!" (ie. paid in full), then rose from the dead in victory over death. He's alive and His tomb is empty.
Therefore "...if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)
"...for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him; for "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved."" (Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, Romans 10:12-13)
God can raise up a group of prayer warriors on behalf of a gospel-rejecting unbeliever living recklessly in despair...
...and then unleash the "Hound Of Heaven" (Holy Spirit) until a new creation is made a partaker of the celestial feast of the "bread of life" and "living water". (John 6:35)
There's NO ONE God can't save.
